So you're in a band, huh? Wanna play to a crowd like this??

The Outback Lodge is always interested in new music from young bands, but just because we can book anyone does not mean that we will book everyone! You don't have to sell a million records to play here, which is the beauty of this fine venue. However, if you're seriously looking to get on our stage, here's a little checklist to go through to help make the process easier for you and a lot less painful for us:
1) Get your game together!! Practice. Play a show or two in your basement just for your friends and family. Practice. Record a few songs and pass them out to your friends to get some feedback. Take that feedback seriously. Practice some more.

2) Take your best couple songs (doesn't have to be a full album or anything), record them to a CD (no 8-tracks or LP's, please), and drop it by the club along with a promo photo (if you've got one), a brief description of you and the style of music that you play, and your mom's favorite recipe for chocolate chip cookies. If you can't come by in person, just drop it in the mail to us! Either way, mark the package as follows:
Outback Lodge Attn: Booking 917 b/c Preston Ave. Charlottesville, VA 22901
3) It doesn't hurt to call a week or so after the package has been sent to follow up and make sure that everything has been recieved by the club. It does hurt, however, to call every day to ask for dates!! With as much music as crosses our stage every week, we're super busy! Believe me, if we like your demo, and you're easy to deal with over the phone -- you'll get booked in no time!

4) Don't be a stranger. The best way to get booked at the Outback Lodge is to be a member of the family! If you come in and hang out with us a few times, tip the bartenders well, shake hands with the bouncers, shoot the bull with the sound guy for a minute, rub elbows with the bands playing that night, exchange heckles with Bill Simpson (don't forget to smell his beard)... you're golden!!
5) And for goodness sake, practice your synchronized jumps!
