The Artisans Center of Virginia invites the community to Artisan Night: Jazz Under the Stars gala benefit star-lighting Virginia artisan crafts, music, foods and drink, Saturday, June 6th from 6:30 pm – Midnight at The Ix Event Space in Charlottesville.
Back-dropped in a “décor d’artiste” adorned by glass blown lighting created by Charles Hall and fine sculptural works formed by Nini Baeckstrom, Floyd Hurt and Yates Spencer, the evening will feature some of the best of Charlottesville jazz.
“2 X 88” featuring the playful keyboard antics of renowned jazz pianists Hod O’Brien and Jim Wray will kick off the evening followed by the Jazz Collective # 9’s full band, sponsored by the Charlottesville Jazz Society. Special cameo performances include an appearance by Laurence Elder, Wolcott & Lander and more!
A Silent Auction featuring one of a kind art created by Virginia Artisans and specialty items donated by local businesses will keep you engaged as you sample the delicious artisan foods and vote on your favorite artisan martini provided by local restaurants.
